Diamond Cut

The cut is one of the most important factors which bring out the brilliance of a diamond. When diamonds are poorly cut, they do not refract light efficiently thus loosing the brilliance which it should exude.

When a loose diamond is cut too shallow, the refracting light is lost through the sides. When the diamond is cut too deep the refracting light escapes through the bottom.

Cut also refers to the shape of a diamond – round, princess, emerald, ascher, oval, marquise, pear, heart - to name a few.

An ideal cut diamond consists of good polish, symmetry, and proportions. When all these factors come together in the perfect amounts, we get diamonds with optimum reflection, refraction and dispersion which produce amazing shine and sparkle.
